Exploring Exciting Texts
The next reading and discussion event is on May 27th, 5pm at the British Council Library. This time we will be reading material that explores the relationship between dreams and reality by looking at excerpts from Chinu Modi’s gujarati play ‘ Swapn Duswapan’ along with essays by Carl Jung and Susanne Langer.
Work in Progress
We are currently working towards our next theatre performance which is written and directed by Chanakya Vyas, the current Artistic Director at Indian Ensemble. The working title of the play is ‘Anonymous Algorithms’ and the play is a peek into the lives of cab drivers in Bangalore, looking at the reasons for their exodus from their homes and families, their current state of existence in this new reality they find themselves in, and the way an Algorithm seems to have taken over their livelihood, their relationships and their future. The play will open in Bangalore in end- September and then tour Karnataka and other sections of the hinterland.
